Learning Registry Plugfest 1

Our inaugural Learning Registry Plugfest will be held on June 15-16, 2011 in the Washington, DC area.  Come for two days of hands-on work to connect your repositories, content collections and communities to the Learning Registry; to build tools, to explore the data we have; and to work on the Learning Registry code to add new features.

June 15, 2011 - June 16, 2011

Who Should Attend

This plugfest is a hands-on technical event.  Do you have metadata or paradata that describes your learning resources that you want to get into the Learning Registry (you have access to the data and you know what format you have)?  Do you want to operate a node in the Learning Registry network?  Are there additional features that you would like to help implement?  Do you want to create mashups with the Learning Registry?  Do you want to build value-added services on top of the Learning Registry?  If any of these describe you and your goals, you are a member of our target audience.  While programming experience and abilities are desired, we may be able to work with you and your data and tools if you can provide our developers with the technical details they require to link your world to the Learning Registry.

We will assume that you know what the Learning Registry is and why we are building it.  You should have programming/software engineering/development skills and plan to come to write code along with us.  If you just want to find out more about the Learning Registry, you probably won't find this event useful -- look at the agenda to see why.
